Accessibility
We want Surf Trip Wave to work for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, zoom or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.
What we do
- Semantic page structure, labelled buttons and form fields, and a skip-to-content link.
- Visible keyboard focus; every feature works with a keyboard, including reordering My spots (arrow keys).
- Text contrast that meets AA in light and dark mode, and text descriptions for charts.
- Respect for your device's reduced-motion setting.
- Automated checks with axe-core on every page type before release.
Known limitations
- Beach cams are third-party YouTube streams; their players and captions are controlled by YouTube and the cam owners.
- Charts summarise the forecast; the same numbers are available as text in the sections below them.
